Same here, UFC is Wikked!!!
it already is.
No because if it was going to be, it already would be by now.
The problems are that its a hard sport, so will attract less participation from sports that anyone can do, like football and rugby(the world’s biggest style of football).
Also big money and fan base lies 90% with the average guy, not the hardcore fans like you and me.
The fact is the average guy just still does not get all the groundwork, and prefers to see KO’s.
Which is why boxing still makes ten times the money UFC fighters do.
its already a lil below football and u figure its only been popular for a lil over 10 years and it keeps growing. thers a good chance it will b the most popular in a few years
Yeah I think it will. It’s only going to grow and grow. We are adopting it in America. Boxing is slowly becoming like soccer. Cool but not are thing. As it becomes sanctioned in more states and you see it at Madison Square Garden it’ll pick up. I wouldn’t be surprised if the one of the big three networks doesn’t try to make a bid for a show on Sundays. All the UFC needs is a character like boxing had with Ali and they’ll take over.
nahh… boxing will remain the top…….. at least for the next 10-20 years.. then maybe, but I dont see MMA getting big enought to PAY like boxing does to attract top atheletes…. for an example Floyed Mayweather is around 30, and has been boxing since he was 5? The guy fighting in the Top MMA fights are still relativley new to the sport (except for the greats) but it will grow…. how much who knows
It’s already the fastest growing sport in the world, as far as viewers are concerned..
It will never be number one as far as participation, and I’ll tell you why from my own experience. I train MMA, and the week after every UFC pay per view, I see about 20 new guys training in my gym, and after actually getting punched in the face once or twice, I don’t see 19 of them anymore.
Think about it, millions and millions of people do karate and other kinds of point fighting, yet you don’t see it on tv. There are something like 5000 licensed professional boxers/kickboxers in the country, and, well.. you see where I’m going with this.
