How many of you believe that mixed martial arts bouts are decided by skill or fixed by admin people? ?

I just watched a few matches that were very exciting. But in spite of the excellence of the fighters, I had to wonder if maybe 1 or more of the fights were fixed. We have all heard the rumours, but what are the facts? I would much rather watch a fight that was decided on skill, not on current politics. What do you think?

Well Rich Franklin Got head butted and eye poked but no that wouldn’t be good for ratings if he won by decision for getting cheated twice…so Henderson is the winner.
I’m not saying its rigged, I’m saying that Henderson Laid prayed and cheated his way to a decision he knew before hand. I don’t think Rich was involved in that.
Boring fights tend to look rigged.
depending on the level of competition but i have no doubt at the top level its fixed.
I am not sure what state you live in but I am a certified pro judge in the state of IL for MMA and Kickboxing and I can tell you that the penalties are severe even for this to happen at the amateur level. Fighters can be suspended for three years or more, administrative people, judges, coaches, and score and timekeepers can be fined up to $5,000 and have their license suspended for life. In addition to this you have to sign a legal agreement of understanding that you will be available to appear at any hearings or investigations and you are sworn in just like in a court case and can be prosecuted for perjury as well. Additionally state certified people have arrest and detainment authority over others and the authority to seize any of the required paperwork that is required at ringside and to be used for judging and scoring the bout if that would become necessary. If a fighter or his corner files a protest then all this can and is reviewed after the fact and the penalties and legal ramifications can get even stiffer than what I have indicated here.
UFC is all based on skill for instance. They train hard, they sweat and bleed. They get bruised. I don’t think I ever seen one fight that looked fixed in UFC. There were really fast 6 second bouts a couple times but the opponent was clearly not prepared for what the other fighter was going to do. There are judges decisions in close fights and they are based on amount of hits, skill and ring presence. That’s what I think.
since it is a sport and a business it is possible.
however i am not privy to inside information so it would be wrong of me to make a definite answer.
