You can join an MMA gym, theres a whole bunch where I live and they probably train in different styles.
I’m just like you…But I started in 10th grade, I started wrestling in school then once I graduated I got into Muay Thai Kickboxing which allowed me to fight at state cagefighting levels…so it would be best to start with wrestling if your in school…works
there’s a lot of club who teach mixed martial arts depend on you to learn the style quickly then you can move on into other style
Enter a local / amatuer competition.
You don’t need anything, except an interest in it.
There are tons of ways to start off. While it always helps to have previous experience, that’s definitely not required.
How old are you? If you’re still in highschool or college, join your wrestling team. Wrestling is a VERY good base for MMA. If you’re older, you can’t do the wrestling, or want to do other stuff too, try to find a local MMA gym. It will give you a taste of what it’s like and you’ll gain valuable experience.
If there’s no local MMA gym, find a martial art/combat sport or two to get you started off. Keeping in mind the 3 ranges of combat (free motion stand up, clinch, and ground), try to be smart about what you’re doing. (As in, for MMA, it’s more practical to train Muay Thai and BJJ than it is to train Muay Thai and Sanda.)
Whatever you do, just remember that the only thing you need to train in MMA is the willingness. There are no other prerequisites. Good luck!
